Invisalign treatment

The Invisalign® system is a virtually invisible device for aligning your teeth. Using sophisticated 3D computer technology, Invisalign® allows you to visualize your entire treatment plan from your Invisalign® practitioner’s prescription, from the initial position of your teeth to their desired final position. Next, a series of transparent aligners are custom-made for your teeth, allowing them to be moved little by little.

Each aligner should be worn for around two weeks before being replaced by the next in the series, until the teeth gradually reach the prescribed final position. The duration of treatment varies according to your specific needs and must be defined by your Invisalign® practitioner.

What’s more, Invisalign® aligners are removable, so you can eat and drink what you like during treatment simply by removing them. Invisalign® aligners move teeth through a series of precisely controlled movements. At each stage, only certain teeth can move, according to the Invisalign® treatment plan for that particular stage. This allows forces to be exerted efficiently.

Some people may experience temporary, minimal discomfort for a few days when using new aligners, at the start of each new treatment stage. Patients generally describe a sensation of pressure that is completely normal. This indicates that the aligners are working properly, and this sensation usually disappears after a few days.

Transparent aligners are made from a high-strength, medical-grade thermoplastic material developed specifically for the Invisalign system. They’re custom-made for you, and fit your teeth perfectly.

Although the Invisalign® system can be used by all dental practitioners, it requires special training.
