Our dentists take care of your children: we can treat tooth decay, broken teeth, hygiene issues, fit braces and deal with emergencies, regardless of their age.

Your child’s dental hygiene is very important

Here are some tips to help make dental care less boring and prevent tooth decay:

Get your child used to good oral hygiene!

It is recommended that they brush their teeth three times a day after each meal. Your child should avoid constantly snacking on sweet food as this can cause tooth decay and pain.

Brush your child’s teeth from the moment the first one appears.

This may seem daunting, but even tiny teeth must be cleaned every day.

Sweets – yes! But tooth friendly sweets!

Look out for sweets with the Happy Tooth logo (Sympadent in French, Zahnfreundlich in German). These products have been tested and recognised as being tooth-friendly. They are available in shops throughout Switzerland – just look out for logo of the tooth under the umbrella.

You like to share things with your child?

Yes! OK, but avoid putting a spoon or pacifier in your mouth before giving it to your child. The bacteria that cause tooth decay can be transmitted from your mouth to theirs.

Onsider an electric toothbrush for your child.

They make cleaning easier and so encourages children to take better care of their teeth. Ask our dental hygienist for advice.

We recommend that you use a toothpaste appropriate for your child’s age.

The fluoride protects their teeth against cavities. It’s easy to find toothpaste for children under 6 years, for children aged 6 to 12 years and for adults. Buy different flavours of toothpaste – children love the variety!
